Adelene Teo
Group Secretary
Adelene was a member of the Malaysian Girlguiding Association in XX where she grew up. This led to a passion for the outdoors and all that such organisations could offer. Adelene went on to become a leader in the Malaysian Girlguiding Association
Adelene then moved to Australia where she became a Joey Leader with the Australian Scout Association for a number of years. Upon returning to Malaysia and with a young daughter keen to get involved, Adelene joined 2nd KL Scouts as a member of the Cub Pack Leadership Team.
Adelene's work schedule started requiring more travel, including weekends, which made it difficult to commit to the monthly activities so, when the Group Secretary role became available, Adelene was keen to take on the new role in order to remain involved with the Group.

Nikita Iyer
Group Treasurer
Nikita joined as 2nd KL Treasurer in May 2021. Both Niki's children are members of 2nd KL; both of them in the Scout section. Niki's eldest was recently selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea 2023 which is a massive achievement both for him, and 2nd KL.
Niki loves nature, visiting waterfalls, and going on hikes; Niki recently completed a successful hike to the summit of Kota Kinabalu after months of grueling training. Professionally Niki is a semi-qualified chartered accountant & postgraduate in finance, previously working as an account executive in E&Y India.
The best part of being a part of the 2nd KL family is the learning they share with the young people about independence, resilience, kindness, and survival skill.

Mairi Clare has been Group Team Leader with 2nd KL since we first started in October 2014. She has watched it grow from 24 young people to over 60 across 3 sections: Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts. Some of the original members are still with us and have even moved on to become Explorers.Â
Mairi Clare moved to Kuala Lumpur from Abu Dhabi where she had been the Beaver Scout Leader with 1st Abu Dhabi; she has now been involved in Scouting for over 10 years having joined as a leader when her eldest became a Beaver.
Mairi Clare is passionate about Scouting, and all it has to offer young people, from camping to skills for life through the many activities we have to offer. She says it is so rewarding to watch the young people grow in the time they are in each section and build on what they have learned as they move on to the next stage of their Scouting journey.
Mairi Clare has many roles within British Scouting Overseas as part of the Area Training Team, within the Rest of World District as District Training Advisor, District Nights Away Advisor, and District Explorer Scout Team Member, and last, but not least, within 2nd Kuala Lumpur Scout Group as Group Team Leader, Scout Leader and, as an active member of the Trustee Board.
Damien Santer
Group Team Leader & Explorer Scout Team Leader
Joining The Scout Association of Australia as a youth member in 1986, Damien went through cubs, scouts and what was then called venturers (explorers) as a child. After a hiatus of 20+ years, he jumped at the opportunity to give back to the movement and create opportunities for the young people of international schools in KL.
He joined 3rd Kuala Lumpur as Group Team Leader with the mission of reinvigorating the group and expanding it to offer beavers, scouts and explorers as well as cubs. In 2020, 3rd KL joined forces with 2nd KL to create a supergroup that would pave the way forward for BSO in Malaysia.
Damien moved to Kuala Lumpur in 2011, and is an avid outdoorsman. He is a paramedical practitioner, loves overland exploration, four-wheel driving, rock climbing, canyoning, caving, white water activities or just about anything else which gives him an excuse to sleep under the stars. Damien is a Group Scout Leader with 2nd KL, the District Explorer Scout Team Leader, training advisor to Rest of World district and heads the First Aid training team for British Scouting Overseas.
